FAQ’S

How Are These Programs Free?

Open-Source Software

Open-source software is software whose source code or instructions are made publicly available for others to use freely, to modify, and to distribute at no cost.

All open-source software is no created equal. Some may be harmful to your computer or privacy, while others have been tested by collaborators from all over the world to ensure it meets standards set by the Open Source Initiative (OSI): a non-profit organization whose vision is to ensure "the OSI helps build a world where the freedoms and opportunities of open source software can be enjoyed by all."

How Do You Pick the Right Free Software To Use?

The majority of software recommended by TrainMe4Tech has been used, tested, and implemented over the course of several years.

We rarely recommend software that does not fall under these categories.

Where Do I Find this Software?

Everywhere! There are various sites that list open-source software, we make the process less tedious by providing you with the direct links to  vendors who create it.

This reduces the risk of installing programs that may come with malicious codes or have the potential to harm your system.

What Should I Do Prior to Installing New Software?

Backup, backup, backup. Before making any changes to your system you should back up your data. As an IT professional or business owner it's your responsibility to regularly backup data.

Save any documents, files, folders, music, or program settings that you "think" you may need. This ensures your most valuable digital assets are protected, your data.
