Financials & Accountability

Check our math.

You shouldn’t have to take a nonprofit’s word for it. Here’s where the money goes, who watches it, and how to see the documents yourself — no request form, no waiting.

The paperwork, in the open.

Annual independent audit

Conducted every year by an outside CPA firm the board hires directly — staff don’t choose their own auditor. The full report posts here each spring; the last three years stay up.

Form 990

Filed annually, posted here the same week, and mailed — unprompted — to every donor over $500. It lists salaries, board members, and program spending line by line.

The board

Nine volunteers — no staff, no relatives of staff — who serve capped three-year terms. They approve the budget, hire the auditor, and can be reached through the office by any donor.

Restricted gifts

Give to the Winter Warmth Fund and it is spent on furnaces and utility bills — tracked in a separate ledger, reported in the audit. We’d rather return a gift than reassign it silently.
