People ask what the 89-cent number means day to day. Here’s one ordinary week from the March books: 1,240 pounds of groceries distributed Thursday; four utility co-pays totaling $610; two furnace repairs; fourteen afternoons of homework help staffed; and one emergency motel night while a family’s unit was made safe.
The other eleven cents kept the lights on, paid the bookkeeper who makes this post possible, and covered the audit that proves it. We think that’s the right split. The audit — posted on our Financials page — will tell you if we ever drift.
